Applications	α-(Guanidinoethylthiomethyl)acrylic Acid is an intermediate in the synthesis of Mergetpa (M225170), a potent mercapto bi-product analogue inhibitor for human carboxypeptidase N. Carboxypeptidase N is a potent bradykinin and anaphylatoxin inactivator in plasma. Mergetpa improves rt-PA induced thrombolysis in a dog model of coronary artery thrombosis.
